An Account with no maintaining balance

The BPI offers a bank account without a maintaining balance which is perfectly suitable for students and unemployed individuals who wish to have their own bank account for their savings. You only need to bring a photocopy and original ID, P250.00 (200.00 for your initial savings and 50.00 for the card), and two (2) pieces of 1x1 picture with white background.

The application process is quite simple and fast. You just have to fill up the application form, pay for the card and 200.00 pesos initial savings, but you may deposit higher if you wish. Your very own card will be delivered to the branch seven (7) days or less prior to your application date, but I recommend you to go back to the bank seven (7) days for assurance that the card was delivered already to avoid coming back for a couple if times and waste money.

After receiving the card, you will be assisted by the bank personnel to enroll your account for online and mobile banking, you should have a Globe or TM sim card for the process to be done and minimum load of 10 pesos but it will not be subject to deduction.

This account type has a very minimal fees. You will be charged P5.00 for every successful transaction via ATMs and P100.00 for over the counter withdrawals, quite big for me! but that's what jeeps me from withdrawing. It encouraged me to save money.
